The cut phone line
The line between the branches is cut. What does the far clerk say to the customer in front of them?
Two branches of the same stall share one ledger over a phone line, and tonight that line gets cut. The tabs set what the far branch does while it is out: keep answering, refuse, or decide question by question. Watch the turned-away count trade against the conflicting entries somebody has to reconcile.
Fourteen fixed moments across two branches. Step through them by hand.
try this Pick Answer anyway, press Play next moment through all fourteen, and watch The bill so far count conflicting entries.
