The DP table
The same recursion, run three ways. Which one solves ways(3) fifty-five times, and which solves it once?
One recursion sits under all three tabs, and the only difference is whether its answers get written down, and in what order. The table is that memory: each cell one subproblem, with a count of how many times it has been worked out from scratch. Watch those counts vanish when the answers are kept.
On a narrow screen the table scrolls sideways and the panels stack above it.
