Finance · Debt: the minimum-payment trap

The minimum payment

You owe 5,000 at 24% a year, and the interest is 100 a month. What does paying 100, 110 or 250 a month actually buy you?

Water is what you owe: 5,000 in a tank, with interest pouring in every month and your payment draining out. The panels show how long until the tank is empty, everything you paid, and how much of it was only interest. Notice what happens when the payment equals the interest.
