How Long Is a Coastline

A ruler walking a coast, first wide, then narrow, with the measured length getting bigger the second time. Keep shrinking that ruler and the number never stops climbing - until you ask a different, better question, which is what the rest of this lesson does.
Before you start. You need to be able to multiply and divide, and to picture a number that keeps growing every time you check it more closely, without ever settling down. That’s all the maths this story needs.
